Current progress on catalytic oxidation of toluene: a review

Toluene is one of the pollutants that are dangerous to environment and human health has been sorted into priority pollutants; hence, control its emission necessary. Due severe problems caused by toluene, different techniques for abatement toluene have developed. Catalytic oxidation promising methods effective technologies degradation as it oxidizes CO2 does not deliver other environment. This paper highlights recent progressive advancement catalysts oxidation. Five categories catalysts, including noble metal transition perovskite metal-organic frameworks (MOFs)-based spinel reported in past half a decade (2015–2020), reviewed. Various factors influence their catalytic activities, such morphology structure, preparation methods, specific surface area, relative humidity, coke formation, discussed.
